The Tin Man's Heart & (Art)

Ken and Michelle Hoff of Peachtree City have created a business based on their artistic creations that Ken proudly says "match nothing yet go with everything." In fact, he says, "the more they don't match, the more they go." Fortunately, many people are looking for art that fits just that description.

Creating their tin artwork is a labor of love for the couple. They personally harvest the material from ceilings of old buildings, cut it, shape it, and color it. The result is an interesting piece of art with universal appeal.

Ken and Michelle may be familiar to Southside shoppers who trek monthly to Lakewood Antiques Market. They also travel the antique show circuit two weekends a month, and recently signed a lease for a gallery on the downtown square in LaGrange. The Hoffs envision their gallery becoming an artistic haven for those seeking an exciting cultural experience complete with music, food, discussion and, of course, their increasingly highly collectible tin masterpieces.

The Hoffs have built their careers on providing interesting, eclectic pieces for the home. In fact, they once worked as importers of decor from Bali. Yet, they have resisted any and all temptations to mass produce their work. "It loses the vibe if it is mass produced," says Ken. Clearly, the process of creating their art is a passion, and it is one that Ken and Michelle Hoff cherish.
